Woes of the Pharisees

Hey kiddo! Have you ever heard of the Pharisees in the Bible? They were a group of religious leaders in ancient times who had a pretty tough time.

You see, the Pharisees were really strict about following all the rules and laws in the Bible. They thought that if everyone followed these rules perfectly, then God would look down upon them kindly. But sometimes, they got a little too caught up in the rules and forgot about showing love and kindness to others.

This caused some problems for the Pharisees. People began to see them as mean and judgmental, and they weren't very popular. Jesus, who was also a religious leader, didn't like the way the Pharisees were acting. He thought they were too focused on the rules and not focused enough on loving others.

So, the Pharisees and Jesus butted heads a lot, and the Pharisees felt like Jesus was challenging their authority and way of thinking. This caused them to become angry and resentful towards Jesus.

In the end, the Pharisees' strict mindset caused them to miss out on the bigger picture of loving and caring for others. They were so blinded by their own righteousness that they couldn't see the love and forgiveness that Jesus offered them.

So, kiddo, the woes of the Pharisees were that they got too caught up in following the rules and forgot about showing kindness and love to others, which caused them to miss out on the love and forgiveness Jesus had to offer them.
