Women Film Pioneers Project
Ok little one, have you ever watched a movie? Well, movies have been around for a very long time and lots of people have made them. But a long time ago, only men were allowed to make movies. That means that girls and women weren't allowed to make movies, even if they wanted to!
But some brave women didn't let that stop them. They decided that they wanted to make movies too, even if no one else thought they could or should. These women had to work really hard to learn how to make movies and to get people to take them seriously.
Nowadays, more girls and women are making movies than ever before! But we still need to remember and appreciate the women who first paved the way for us. That's where the Women Film Pioneers Project comes in.
This project is all about remembering, researching, and sharing the stories of those brave women who made movies when no one else thought they could. The project has collected lots and lots of information about these women and their movies. They even have a website where you can learn all about them!
