Women in the EZLN

The EZLN (or Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional) is a group of people in Mexico who are fighting for a better life for the people of their country. Women have always been an important part of the EZLN and form a large part of the group. Women have always taken part in physical activities like participating in marches and protests, providing support and resources to other members, and even leading their own military units. They have served a wide variety of roles, from leading combat and non-combat roles to creating support systems for their communities. Women also have served as representatives and spokespeople for the group, and have been an important part of the group’s efforts to bring attention to important issues.
