Workaround

A workaround is when someone has a problem and they find a different, often creative, way to solve it. For example, let's say your mom asked you to clean your room. You really don't want to do it, so you come up with a workaround. Maybe you could offer to help your mom with something else around the house like washing the dishes - this way, you're still helping your mom, but you're not cleaning your room. That's what a workaround is!
