World's longest domestic flight

So imagine you want to go visit your grandma who lives very far away. But instead of taking a car or a train, you have to take a big airplane. And not just any airplane, but one that can fly for a very long time without stopping.

Well, that's what a domestic flight is - it's a very long plane ride within one country. And the world's longest domestic flight is in Australia.

It starts in Perth, which is a city on the west coast of Australia. Then, the plane flies all the way over to the east coast of Australia, to a city called Sydney. That's a really long way!

In fact, it takes about 17 hours to fly from Perth to Sydney on this plane. That's like waiting all day and all night and all day again!

The plane has to fly over a huge desert called the Outback, and it crosses over many different time zones. So even though you might leave at one time of day, you'll arrive at a completely different time of day.

But don't worry - the plane has comfy seats and food and movies to keep you entertained. And once you get to your destination, you'll have a great time visiting all the cool places in Sydney (or wherever you're going!).
