Wrongful death claim

Okay kiddo, let's talk about what happens when someone passes away because of someone else's actions. When this happens, the family of the person who passed away can file what's called a "wrongful death claim."

Basically, this means that they believe that the person who caused the death should be held responsible for it, and they want to be compensated for the loss of their loved one.

Now, if they decide to go forward with the claim, they will have to go to court and prove that the person who caused the death was negligent, meaning they didn't take the proper care to prevent it from happening.

If the court agrees, the family might receive money to pay for things like funeral expenses, lost income from the person who passed away, and other things that would have been provided for the person if they were still alive.

It can be a difficult and emotional process, but it's important for families to have the opportunity to hold people accountable for their actions and receive some form of justice.
