Yugoslavia used to be a country in Europe. It was made up of several different groups of people who all lived together. They all spoke different languages, had different backgrounds and cultures, and had different religions. The country was ruled by a president, who made the important decisions for the whole country. Unfortunately, after the president died in 1980, the different groups could not agree on how the country should be run, so it ended up splitting up into several smaller countries. These countries are now known as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Serbia, Montenegro, and Slovenia.
