ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Zonal constructed languages

Okay kiddo, so there are some people who like to make up new languages with their own rules and words. They call these made-up languages "constructed languages," or "conlangs" for short.

One type of conlang is called a "zonal constructed language." That's just a fancy way of saying that the language is based on different "zones" or regions of the world. For example, one zone might be based on the languages and cultures of Europe, while another might be based on the languages and cultures of Asia.

People who create zonal constructed languages try to make them sound like real languages that people actually speak in those zones. They might take words and grammar rules from real languages in those regions, and make up new ones as well.

The idea is that if you learn one of these zonal constructed languages, you will be able to communicate better with people from that zone. It's kind of like how people who speak Spanish can talk to each other even if they come from different countries.

So that's it, kiddo! Zonal constructed languages are just made-up languages based on different parts of the world.
