ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Zone pricing

Zone pricing is like a game where the price you pay depends on where you are playing. Imagine you and your friends are playing tag in a big park - the area closest to the playground might be the "cheap zone" and the area with the big trees might be the "expensive zone." If you want to play in the expensive zone, it might cost you more (like giving your friend a sticker or some of your candy).

Now, imagine instead of playing tag, you and your mom are buying groceries at the store. The store might divide its locations into zones, too - maybe the milk is cheaper in one area and the cheese is more expensive in another. If you're shopping for milk, you might try to go to the cheap zone to save some money, while if you want fancy cheese you might need to pay extra by going to the expensive zone.

Zone pricing can be used for lots of things, like shopping, tolls on highways, or even airplane tickets. It just means that the price of something depends on where you are and what you're buying. So just like with tag, you need to be careful about where you play and how much it will cost you!
