Card counting is a special way of keeping track of what cards have been used in a game of blackjack, to figure out if you have a better chance of winning the next hand. It's done by keeping track of what cards have been played when they are all dealt out of the deck. Every card in the deck has a certain "count", like +1 or -1. Every time one of these cards is dealt, you add or subtract the count from a total. When the total is higher, that means that there are more high cards left in the deck, which gives you better odds of beating the dealer. You can use this knowledge to make smarter choices about when to hit and stand.
