A honeypot is like a trap for hackers. It's a computer that looks like it has lots of important stuff on it, but actually it just has things like fake passwords and email addresses. That way the hacker is tricked into thinking they got something important, but they didn't. It's like a pretend trap, and the hacker falls right into it.
