ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

how do magnets work?

Magnets are objects that have special powers and can make things move without touching them. Magnets have sides that are attracted to metal, like iron and steel. When two magnets come near each other, the sides that are attracted to metal pull together and stick, like glue. If you have two magnets with the same side facing each other, they will push away, like they don't like each other.
