how gps work

GPS stands for Global Positioning System. It's like an invisible map in the sky! GPS is made up of a bunch of satellites that stay in the same place in the sky. Each satellite sends out signals, and those signals contain information that tells you your exact location.

When you have a GPS device, like a phone or a car, it listens for the signals that come from the satellites. Your device measures the time it takes for the signal to reach it, and then uses that time measurement to figure out how far away the satellite is. It knows how far away it is from a few different satellites, so it can figure out where you are!
