A laptop is a computer that is small enough to fit on your lap. It has a screen, keyboard, and trackpad (a pointing device) just like a desktop computer, but it fits in your bag and is much more portable. You can do all of the same tasks on a laptop as a desktop computer, like writing papers, sending emails, playing games, watching movies, and more. Laptops use batteries, so you don't need to be plugged into an outlet to use them.
