ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

neuroscience

Neuroscience is the study of the brain, or the nervous system. It looks at how nerve cells (or neurons) work together to help us think, learn, remember, and do other things. Scientists study different parts of the brain to understand how they affect how we think, feel and act. They also look at how the brain develops, and how diseases and injuries might affect how it works. One way to think about neuroscience is to imagine that each neuron is like a tiny house. When those neurons connect and talk to each other, those tiny houses join together to form a big town. That big town is responsible for all sorts of things, like making us remember things, making us move, and making us feel happy!
