A runaway ramp is a kind of ramp that is made to help vehicles which have a problem with the brakes. It's usually a long, steep ramp that ends with a flat area. The vehicles drive up the ramp and at the end, the flat area stops them from going any further. This helps them slow down without the driver having to use the brakes.
