Adaptive system

Adaptive Systems are when something changes depending on its environment. Think of it like a plant that is thirsty — if it doesn't get enough water, it will figure out a way to make use of the water it has available to survive. So, the plant is adapting to its environment by changing what it does to survive. The same is true of Adaptive Systems — they make changes based on the situation they're in.
