Amplitude death

Amplitude death is when a wave repeats itself so many times that it becomes impossible to tell what it looked like before. It's like if you have a bunch of pictures that all look the same, it's hard to remember or tell which one is the original. Amplitude death is when this happens with a wave, like a sound wave or an ocean wave, and the wave just keeps going and going in the same pattern over and over until it's not recognizable anymore.
