ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Avis de réception

An "avis de réception" is like a special piece of paper that helps people know when a letter or package has been delivered. When someone sends something important in the mail, they may want to make sure that the person they sent it to actually received it. That's where the "avis de réception" comes in!

When the letter or package is sent, the sender can ask for an "avis de réception" to be included. This means that when the letter or package arrives, the person who gets it has to sign the "avis de réception" to show that they received it. Then, the "avis de réception" gets sent back to the sender, so they know for sure that the letter or package is safely where it needs to be.

It's like if you want to make sure your friend got the birthday invitation you sent them. You might ask your friend's mom to sign a special note that says your friend got the invitation. Then, your friend's mom sends the note back to you, so you know your friend will be at the party!
