Cognitive ethology

Cognitive ethology is the study of how animals think and make decisions. It focuses on how animals use information they take in with their senses to figure out what to do in their environment. For example, if a bird sees a cat it might try to hide or fly away, depending on what it thinks is the safest thing to do. Cognitive ethology looks at how animals use their senses, memories, and knowledge to make these kinds of decisions.
