ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Control theory

Control theory is about a set of tools to help us understand and describe how systems behave. It can help us figure out the best way to get a system to do exactly what we want it to do. It's like planning a trip: you need to figure out the best way to get from one place to another. Control theory looks at how to control a system (like a car, or a factory) so that it can do what we need it to do. It looks at things like sensors that measure how the system is going, and controls that can be used to change how the system is working. It gives us a better understanding of how the system works and how to get the most out of it.
