Domestication of the horse

The domestication of the horse is when people started to take care of and help build breeds of horses. People have been caring for and working with horses since before the time of the ancient Egyptians. People have used horses to help with farming and transportation, and to help with the herding of other animals like cattle or sheep.

Domestication of horses started when humans began to feed and care for wild horses, and when they became used to being around people. As humans began to treat horses kindly, the horses wanted to stay near them. Over time, humans bred horses with certain characteristics that made them easier to handle and train. Once horses were domesticated, they became much more useful to people, helping them with transportation and farming. Without horses, the world would be very different!
