ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Finger binary

Finger binary is a way of counting with your fingers. To count in finger binary, each of your fingers and your thumb stand for a number, as follows: your thumb stands for 0, your index finger stands for 1, your middle finger stands for 2, your ring finger stands for 3, and your pinky finger stands for 4. To count higher than four, you “bend” your fingers. For example, if you bend your index and middle fingers down, that will stand for the number 5, and if you bend your index, middle, and ring fingers down, that stands for the number 6. In this way, you can use your fingers to count up to 10!
