Heel-shaped cairn

Okay kiddo, you know how sometimes when you go on a hike or a walk, you might see rocks stacked on top of each other in a special way? That's called a cairn.

Now, a heel-shaped cairn is a cairn that looks like the shape of a heel on your foot. It has a big pile of rocks in the middle and then two smaller piles on either side.

Sometimes people make heel-shaped cairns for fun or as a way to mark a special spot, like maybe where they saw a really pretty view.

It's always important to be careful when making any kind of rock pile or cairn though, because we want to make sure we're not hurting any plants or animals. And if you're not sure if it's okay to make a cairn in a certain spot, it's always good to ask an adult for help or get permission from a park ranger.
