Islamic extremism

Islamic extremism is an extreme way of looking at Islam, a religion that most people believe promotes peace. Extremists believe that it is their duty to protect Islam and their Muslim communities and so use violence to carry out their ideas. They often try to force their views on other people and link them to their religious beliefs. This can lead to violence and dangerous acts, like bombing or attacking people.
