ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Key-based routing

Okay, so let's imagine you're playing a game with a lot of different rooms. Each room has a different color, like red, blue, or green. You want to go to a specific room, let's say the blue one.

But instead of just walking around trying to find it, you have a special key that only works on the door to the blue room. When you use your key and open the door, you can go straight into the blue room without any extra walking or searching.

That's kind of like key-based routing. Instead of just sending information out into the internet and hoping it finds the right destination, it uses a special code, or key, to go straight to where it needs to go.

This makes things faster and more organized, kind of like how using your special key helps you get to the blue room much faster than wandering around the other rooms.
