ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Lakhva

Lakhva is a type of game that people play in some parts of India. It's usually played by kids, but adults can play it too. In Lakhva, one person is chosen to be "it" and they have to find the other players who are hiding. The game is played in a big open area, like a park or a field.

The person who is "it" closes their eyes and counts to a certain number, usually ten or twenty. While they are counting, the other players run and hide. Once the person who is "it" finishes counting, they start looking for the other players. If they find someone, they say "Lakhva!" and that person is "it" for the next round.

Sometimes, the people who are hiding can move around while the person who is "it" is looking for them. This makes it harder for the person who is "it" to find them. If the person who is "it" takes too long to find everyone, the other players might call out "dil laga ke" which means "try harder!"

Lakhva is a fun game that lots of kids and adults enjoy playing. It's a great way to get exercise, have fun with friends, and practice your hiding skills. So if you ever get a chance to play Lakhva, give it a try!
