Non-megalithic round barrow

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a hill that is kind of round and looks like it's been made by people? Well, that's called a round barrow. But not all round barrows are made like the big ones you know, called megalithic barrows. Some of them are smaller and made only of dirt or stones, like a big mole hill. We call those non-megalithic round barrows. People made them a long time ago to bury their dead friends or family members. They wanted to make sure the body was safe and protected, so they put it in the middle of the round barrow. People used to believe that when somebody dies, their spirit goes to the afterlife, and the round barrow was a way to make sure the spirit would find its way there. Today, we learn about these round barrows to understand how people from a long time ago lived and what they believed in.
