ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Probability of success

Well, when we talk about the probability of success, we're basically trying to figure out the chances of something good happening. For example, think about throwing a ball into a basket. If you throw the ball a hundred times and it goes in the basket fifty times, then the probability of success is fifty percent.

Now, imagine you have a bag with ten pieces of candy inside. Six of them are chocolate and four are gummies. If you close your eyes and pick one candy at random, what's the probability of getting a chocolate? It's six out of ten, which can also be written as 60%.

In real life, we use probability to make predictions and decisions. For instance, if a weather forecast says there's a 90% chance of rain tomorrow, you might decide to carry an umbrella with you just in case.

So, in summary, probability of success is all about figuring out how likely it is that you'll achieve a positive outcome.
