Quinary

Quinary is a way of counting that uses five numbers. It's like counting with your finges - 0 (no fingers), 1 (one finger), 2 (two fingers), 3 (three fingers) and 4 (four fingers). We count in quinary because it's easier to remember than other types of counting. For example, if we wanted to count to 100, it would be much easier to count up in quinary (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, etc.), than it would be to count in decimal (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, etc.).
