how a rocket works

A rocket is a machine that uses a special kind of fuel called 'rocket fuel' to launch itself into the sky. The fuel burns really quickly, releasing hot gases that escape out of the rocket in one direction. This forces the rocket to move in the opposite direction, through the air, and up into space.
