Screenlife (film format)

Screenlife is a movie format where the entire movie is presented from the point of view of a computer or a smartphone screen. For instance, instead of showing actors interacting with each other and their surroundings, the camera only shows what happens on the screens of their electronic devices. This may include text messages, social media updates, incoming calls, and web browsing.

Think of it as watching a movie where you see everything through the screen of your tablet, phone or laptop. Imagine seeing all the conversations, images, and videos shared between people through instant messaging or social media, as if you were looking at their phone screen. Everything is presented from the perspective of the screen, and only what is happening there is shown.

Although it may sound limiting or dull, screenlife movies can be just as engaging and exciting as traditional films. They often use creative editing techniques, suspenseful music, and fast-moving visuals to keep the audience engaged. Some of the most popular screenlife movies include Unfriended, Searching, and the Hostage Trilogy.
