cataract

A cataract is when your eye's lens turns cloudy. It's like looking through a fogged-up window. It's normal to get cataracts as you age, but they can also happen if you're on certain medications, have diabetes or have been near a lot of bright sunlight. Cataracts make it hard to see things and can even make it hard to read or drive. Your doctor can do an operation to take out the cloudy lens and replace it with a special clear lens. That way, your eyes can see again.
