ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Úlfhéðnar

Hey kiddo! Do you like Vikings? Well, have you ever heard of úlfhéðnar? They were pretty cool and a bit scary.

Úlfhéðnar were Viking warriors who were known for wearing wolf skins and fighting in battle without armor. They believed that by wearing the wolf skins, they would gain the strength and power of the wolf.

When they went to battle, they would howl like wolves and bite on their shields like they were trying to eat them. This made their enemies really frightened and it gave them an advantage.

But úlfhéðnar were not just fierce warriors, they also worshipped Odin, the god of war. They believed that by fighting without armor, they would show their bravery and earn a place in Valhalla, which was like a big party hall for warriors who died in battle.

So even though úlfhéðnar were kind of scary, they were also really brave and believed in their traditions. Pretty cool, huh?
