ātman is a Buddhist belief about the soul. It teaches that each person has a soul inside of them that is always there and never changes. The soul is thought to be the essence of who you are, and it's the reason why different people have different personalities, strengths, and weaknesses. Buddhism teaches that all souls are equal - no one's soul is better or worse than any other. Buddhists believe that the soul is permanent and that it will continue to exist even after our physical bodies die. The goal of Buddhism is to become aware of the soul and understand its permanence, so that we can learn to live in harmony with ourselves and the world around us.
