1 Samuel 17

Okay kiddo, let's talk about a story from the Bible in the book of 1 Samuel, chapter 17. This is a story about a man named David who faced a giant named Goliath.

David was just a young boy who was taking care of his family's sheep. One day, his father sent him to take some food to his older brothers who were soldiers in the Israelite army. When David got there, he saw that the whole army was afraid of a giant named Goliath. He was a big, scary dude who wanted to fight someone from the Israelite army. No one was brave enough to face him.

David was not a soldier, but he had faith in God and was brave. He said he would fight Goliath. King Saul, who was the leader of the Israelite army, thought David was too young and small to fight the giant, but David insisted.

David went out to face Goliath with only a sling and some stones. Goliath was wearing armor and carrying weapons, but David wasn't afraid. He trusted that God would help him.

David used the sling to throw a stone at Goliath's head and it hit him right in the forehead! Goliath fell down and David was able to kill him with his own sword.

Everyone was amazed that David, a young boy, was able to defeat the giant Goliath. It showed that with faith in God, even the smallest and weakest people can accomplish great things.

So, the story of David and Goliath teaches us to be brave and have faith in God, even when facing scary and difficult situations.
