100 megametres

Okay kiddo, have you ever driven in a car with your family and looked at the signs on the side of the road that show how many miles it is to the next city? Well, imagine those signs are showing how many megametres it is to the next city instead of miles.

Now, 100 megametres is a really long way! It's like if you got in the car with your family and started driving from your house and kept driving and driving for hours and hours without stopping until you had gone 100 megametres. That's how far away it is!

But, something to keep in mind, even though 100 megametres might seem like a big number and a really long distance, Earth is actually much bigger than that! So even though it seems like a lot to us, there are still much longer distances out there in space.
