ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

105th meridian west

Okay kiddo, so the earth is a giant ball, right? And we have some lines drawn on it called meridians that help us figure out where we are on the earth.

These meridians are like imaginary lines that go from the North Pole all the way down to the South Pole. They help us measure how far we are east or west of a particular point.

One of these meridian lines is called the 105th meridian west. It’s kind of like a really long road on a map, but instead of cars driving on it, it’s just a line on the earth.

Now, when we talk about the 105th meridian west, it means we are measuring how far we are to the west of it. So if we were standing on a spot that was directly on this meridian line, we would say we are 0 degrees west of it (just like how we would say we are 0 miles away from our own house).

But if we were standing somewhere to the west of this line, we would say we are a certain number of degrees west of it. The farther west we go, the higher the number of degrees we would say.

So that's basically what the 105th meridian west is - just a line on the earth that helps us figure out where we are and how far we are from it :)
