1500–1550 in fashion

From the year 1500 to 1550, people's clothing and style changed a lot. Some of the things people wore during that time included very fancy and expensive clothes that were made with beautiful materials, such as silk and velvet. For men, the most popular style was what's called the doublet and hose. This outfit consisted of a tight-fitting jacket, called a doublet, and a pair of tight pants, called hose. Both the doublet and hose were often made with elaborate designs and were decorated with things like embroidery and jewels.
