1987–1989 Tibetan unrest

Okay, so in 1987, some people who lived in Tibet were not happy with the way they were being treated by the government that ruled over them. They decided to protest and ask for better treatment. These protests happened in different parts of Tibet.

Unfortunately, the government did not like these protests and tried to stop them. This made the people even more upset and they continued to protest. The protests got bigger and more people joined in.

In 1989, things really escalated. There were some violent clashes between the protesters and the government. This means that people were fighting and hurting each other.

The world was watching and many people were upset about what was happening in Tibet. Some people protested in other parts of the world to show their support for the protesters in Tibet.

Eventually, the protests died down, but the government did make some changes. They promised to treat the people in Tibet better and give them more freedom. However, there are still some people who believe that things have not gotten better enough and continue to fight for more rights for the people of Tibet.
