Misinformation is when something is spread online that is not true or not the whole truth. It is usually spread intentionally by people who want to confuse or mislead other people. So they might take something that is true but leave out important details that would change the meaning, or add false details, or completely make up something. This could lead to people having wrong ideas or bad information.
