2002 Mombasa attacks
Okay kiddo, in 2002, some bad people wanted to hurt other people and they did it in Mombasa, which is a place in Kenya. They used a big truck that had bombs hidden inside and drove it to a hotel where lots of tourists were staying. The bombs exploded and hurt many people.
After that, the bad people went to another place where lots of people were praying at a church. They threw bombs and shot guns at the people there. Some people were hurt really badly and some even died.
Lots of people were sad and scared because of what happened. The police tried to find the bad people who did this and they found out that they were part of a group that wanted to hurt people who they disagreed with. It was a very sad and scary time for everyone.
