2005 anti-Japanese demonstrations

In 2005, some people in China got upset with Japan. They got so mad that they went outside and protested. Protest means they went on the street and shouted and carried signs.

There were a few reasons that they felt angry with Japan. One reason was because Japan had approved the textbooks that some people felt didn't show the right history about what happened between China and Japan a long time ago.

Another reason was because some Japanese people had gone to a shrine in Japan that some people in China felt was bad because it reminded them of bad things that happened during the war. The war was a really big fight between China and Japan a long time ago.

So, people in China were really mad and were protesting. They were throwing rocks, breaking things, and even setting things on fire. This made some people very scared and many people were hurt.

The Chinese government tried to stop the protests by telling people to stay calm and not to cause trouble. Eventually, the protests stopped, but it was a tough time for everyone involved.
