2008 United States presidential election in Missouri

Okay kiddo, do you remember when we went to vote for our school president? Well, imagine that but for the whole country. In 2008, people in the United States got to vote for who they wanted to be the leader of the whole country, the president.

Now, each state in the US has its own way of counting up the votes to decide who won in that state. Missouri is one of the states in the United States, and they had their own election to decide who they wanted to vote for in the presidential election.

In Missouri, there were two main people running for president: Barack Obama and John McCain. People got to go to voting stations all across Missouri and cast their vote for who they wanted to be president.

After everyone in Missouri had voted, the people in charge of counting the votes added up all the votes for each candidate. And at the end of the day, Barack Obama had won more votes than John McCain, so he was declared the winner in Missouri for the 2008 presidential election.

Overall, Barack Obama ended up winning the election across the whole country and became the President of the United States for the next four years. It was a very exciting time in our country!
