ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

567-line television system

So, imagine you have a magic box that shows you pictures and sounds of things happening far away. That's called a television!

A long time ago, people made televisions with a system that had 567 lines going up and down to make the picture. Think of it like a coloring book where there are lots of tiny little squares that need to be filled in.

Each of these lines is like a row of squares on a coloring book, but instead of just being blank, they have different colors and shades that all come together to make a picture.

When you turn on the TV, it sends a signal to your box that tells it which colors and shades to use for each line. All of those lines put together create the picture that you see on your screen!

Pretty cool, right? Nowadays, TVs use even more lines to make the pictures even clearer, but the 567-line system was still pretty impressive back in the day.
