ACPI

ACPI stands for Advanced Configuration and Power Interface. It is a way for your computer's hardware and software to work together to save energy and make things like turning on and off your computer faster and easier. ACPI is responsible for all the different ways your computer can be powered (like using a battery or an AC power supply) and for things like knowing when the lid of your laptop is opened and closed so it can adjust the power settings automatically.
