Once upon a time, there was a man named Abgar who was a king. Abgar had a disease that made him very sick and he wanted to get better. He heard about a man named Jesus who was able to perform miracles and heal people. Abgar wanted to meet Jesus and ask him to come and heal him.
However, Abgar was far away from where Jesus was living at the time. So, Abgar wrote a letter to Jesus asking him to come and heal him. In the letter, Abgar explained that he had heard Jesus could perform miracles and he asked if Jesus could come and heal him.
When Jesus received the letter, he couldn't physically travel to see Abgar because he had many other people to help in his current location. But Jesus did something very special - he sent back a letter of his own. In the letter, Jesus told Abgar that he couldn't physically come and visit him but he promised to send one of his disciples to come and heal him instead.
The disciple that Jesus sent was named Thaddeus. Thaddeus traveled to Abgar's kingdom and was able to heal him from his illness. Abgar was so happy and grateful that he converted to Christianity and his entire kingdom became Christian too.
Today, the Abgar legend is still remembered as a story of the power of faith and the ability of people to overcome challenges, like illness, through their belief in a higher power.
