Abiogenic petroleum origin

Abiogenic petroleum origin is a theory that says that oil and natural gas didn't come from dead animals and plants, like everyone used to think. Instead, the theory says that oil and gas come from other rocks that are deep inside the Earth. Because these rocks are so deep, they get really hot, and the heat breaks the rocks down and makes oil and gas. The oil and gas can then escape through the Earth's surface and be collected by people.
