Aboriginal land trust

Okay, so imagine you have a toy that you really love and you want to make sure nobody takes it away from you. That's kind of like what an aboriginal land trust is. Aboriginal people have lived in Australia for a very, very long time, and they have special connections to certain parts of the land.

An aboriginal land trust is a way for the government to make sure that the land stays with the Aboriginal people who have a connection to it. Basically, the government sets aside certain pieces of land and gives control of them to the Aboriginal people.

The Aboriginal people can use the land for things like hunting, farming, or building houses, but they have to take care of the land and make sure it stays healthy. Nobody else is allowed to come onto the land and take it away from the Aboriginal people.

It's kind of like a big box that nobody else can open except for the Aboriginal people who have the special key. And that way, they can keep the things they love safe and sound.
