ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Aboriginal reserve

An Aboriginal Reserve is a piece of land that is set aside for people from the original population of Canada that includes First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. Aboriginal Peoples have owned the land for hundreds of years, and the government sometimes sets aside parts of it for them to continue to use. On these reserves, Aboriginal Peoples may hunt, fish, and use the land to live off of the land. The government also provides financial support to people living on reserves and provides services like education, housing and healthcare.
